Oasis Scholarship 2026 — Complete Guide for Fresh & Renewal Applicants

West Bengal Domicile / Residency

The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal. All schemes on the Oasis portal are domicile-based and open exclusively to WB residents.

Category — SC / ST / OBC (Valid Caste Certificate Required)

A valid and current caste certificate is mandatory. OBC applicants whose caste certificate was issued before 01 August 2025 must complete revalidation/verification on the portal before applying.

ST Students — OTR (One-Time Registration) on NSP is Mandatory

As per Ministry of Tribal Affairs guidelines, all Scheduled Tribe (ST) students must generate an OTR (One-Time Registration) on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) before applying on the Oasis portal. This is a new and mandatory requirement for 2026.

Class / Course — Scheme-Specific

The eligible scheme depends on which class or course you are currently enrolled in. Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, and other schemes have different class ranges — select the correct scheme during registration.

Income Limit (Scheme-Specific)

Income limits vary by category and scheme. For example, the Pre-Matric SC/ST (Class IX–X) scheme has a reported income cap of ₹2,00,000 per annum. Your income certificate must reflect a figure within the prescribed limit. Mismatch with district verification will lead to rejection.

Open the Official Oasis Portal & Click “Student’s Registration”

Go to the official Oasis portal and click on the Student’s Registration option to begin your fresh application.

Select Your District

Always select the district where your institution (school/college) is located — not your home district. Portal instructions confirm this rule clearly.

Enter Caste Certificate Details

Fill in your certificate number, issuing authority, and issuing date exactly as mentioned on your caste certificate. OBC applicants: if your certificate was issued before 01-08-2025, complete the revalidation process first.

Fill Personal, Academic & Bank Details

Carefully enter all personal information, your current course/class details, and bank account information. Cross-check every field before moving to the next section.

Upload Documents & Submit / Lock the Form

Upload all required documents, review the complete form, and then click Submit / Lock. Once locked, the application moves to institution and district verification. You cannot edit a locked application.

Track Your Application Status

After submission, use the Track an Application section on the portal to monitor your status from verification through to payment.

❌ OBC Certificate Revalidation Pending

Problem: Caste certificate issued before 01-08-2025 without revalidation.
Fix: Complete the caste certificate revalidation/verification process on the West Bengal Caste Certificate Portal, then return to the Oasis portal to apply.

❌ ST Students Missing OTR on NSP

Problem: ST applicants who skipped the mandatory One-Time Registration on the National Scholarship Portal.
Fix: Visit scholarships.gov.in, complete your OTR, then apply on the Oasis portal.

❌ Bank DBT / NPCI Aadhaar Mapping Issue

Problem: Aadhaar not linked to bank account via NPCI, preventing DBT payment.
Fix: Visit your bank branch with your Aadhaar card and request Aadhaar seeding (NPCI linking). Confirm DBT-enabled status before submitting your application.

❌ Wrong District Selected During Application

Problem: Selecting home district instead of institution district (or vice versa).
Fix: Always use the district where your school/college is physically located when applying. For WB students studying outside WB, use your permanent address district.

❌ Outdated or Mismatched Income Certificate

Problem: Income certificate is expired, outdated, or shows a figure that doesn’t match district records.
Fix: Obtain a fresh, valid income certificate from the appropriate authority. Ensure the amount stated is within the prescribed limit for your scheme.
